All positions are remote and volunteer-based at this time.

Beta Reader Review Team

Volunteer | Remote

Members of the Beta Reader Review Team assist with the initial evaluation of submissions. This role focuses on careful reading, clear assessment, and reliable turnaround rather than developmental editing.

Responsibilities

Read and evaluate submitted horror fiction, poetry, and related work
Provide concise, objective feedback aligned with editorial guidelines
Identify submissions that meet the magazine’s standards for quality and fit
Meet assigned reading deadlines

Qualifications

Strong familiarity with horror as a genre
Ability to evaluate work critically and professionally
Attention to detail and consistency
Reliability and clear communication

Editorial Team

Volunteer | Remote

Editorial Team members participate more directly in shaping each issue. Responsibilities may vary depending on experience and availability.

Responsibilities

Review and assess submissions
Provide editorial feedback and recommendations
Assist with content selection and issue planning
Collaborate with other editors in a professional editorial environment

Qualifications

Experience with editing, publishing, or genre fiction (formal or informal)
Strong written communication skills
Familiarity with contemporary and classic horror
Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively
