She didn't see 'em down there
down there
all the eyes in the creek don't blink
don't blink
or they might make a move on you
on you
they'll sink their teeth right into them bones
your bones
lay under your feet
you're meat
now, she don't see 'em so they follow her home
her home
ain't been quite right since the sun went down
down
down
she glances at the shadows she drowned
we drowned
in the creek eyes wide open, don't blink
just drink
Bianca Ambrosino is a somewhat reclusive poet from Richmond, Virginia. Her sensory based, Autistic perspective illuminates universal themes with startling connections and vivid synesthesia. She spends her time writing, walking outside, raising her children, and reading countless academic papers and scientific publications (for fun). Her poetry appears in The Thieving Magpie, Trashlight Press, Belladonna’s Garden, NonBinary Review, Querencia Press and elsewhere.
